Hi,

yesterday I installed the most recent version on my server and I had the problem that some of the config files were not created from the templates.

Tracking the problem down, I found out that the generation script does not print an error or abort if one of the target directories for a config file does not exist.

I had the problem that /etc/php/apache2-php5 did not exist and the script stopped while trying to copy a new php.ini to that directory. What I forgot was to add the "apache2" use flag to the dev-lang/php package. Can you please add that to the installation instructions.

I also noticed, that giving a long manager password (>12 chars) with several special characters (. - !) did not work for me during bootstrap. There seems to be a problem generating the SHA hash for those passwords, because it worked after I changed my password using phpldapadmin.

That's all for now. Btw, this is really a great project!
Thanks for all the hard effort Gunnar!

Thanks for the report! The "apache2" flag has been added to the install instructions.

I also added a bug for the password problem:

I think I remember there was a similar report in the kolab bugtracker.

I identified the source of the problem with the password in the bootstrap script and fixed the problem in kolabd-20061215.

This seems to be related to an upstream problem:
