As an experiment I did add the "otrs" use flag to the net-mail/kolabd ebuild. This will pull in the OpenTicketRequestSystem as a dependency and provide the necessary configuration so that all kolab users will be able to submit support requests.

The solution with the use flag is actually rather stupid and I will correct that by providing a modified otrs ebuild soon.

Let me know how you want the otrs ebuild to be modified. Of course, patches are welcome Smiley

Hi Renat Wink

This was not meant to criticize the otrs-ebuild which works just fine. But right now I added a use flag to the main kolab ebuild which pulls in otrs as a dependancy and depending on a webapp is nonsense. I'll just have to add the "kolab" use flag to the ebuild and add some additional files in there.

But I guess I won't submit that patch "UPSTREAM" Smiley since there is no "kolab" useflag in portage yet. I am working on that though Wink

OT: Pretty nice forum ebuild we have there in our webapps-overlay. Like this smf thing.

Cheers,

Gunnar

I corrected my earlier mistakes with the "otrs" use flag in the kolab ebuild. It vanished there now but there is a new otrs ebuild in the www-apps section of the overlay. This ebuild supports the "kolab" use flag.

Instructions for installing the Ticket-System have been added on the project page:

http://projects.gunnarwrobel.de/kolab/wiki/UseFlagOtrs

If you used the "otrs" use flag before there should nevertheless be no problems when switching.

Comments welcome!

Hi, Gunnar!

Is that HOWTO still current?
I get a 403 Forbidden error when trying to access /otrs/index.pl after installation
I'll report back when I've found the problem...

Cheers,
Robert

OK, I found the problem.
The log says:
access to /var/www/kolab/otrs-2.0.4/bin/cgi-bin/index.pl failed, reason: SSL connection required
Maybe one should add a Redirect statement to the config file...

The default apache configuration from the overlay should use the subdomains 'support' and 'tickets' for the redirection. Like this:

http://support.my-domain.de/
http://tickets.my-domain.de/

But I admit that I still did not document the apache setup for the Kolab on Gentoo project. So depending on your setup this might or might not work. Smiley

I just tried getting OTRS setup and running on my nice shiny new Kolab install.  Everything has been working fine including Horde but I can't get OTRS to work at all.

I used to get the forbidden message but then I noticed that I had the wrong ServerName in kolab-vhosts-otrs.include.  I fixed that and now I just get the following:-

An error occurred while loading http://tickets.blahblah.blah:
Timeout on server
Connection was to mail.blahblah.blah at port 443

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix my mistake?

I admit that I did not work on the OTRS config in a while. It might be broken since the newest apache update. But I'll try and fix it after I marked the repository stable. OTRS needs a version upgrade anyhow.

Thanks for the reply Gunnar, I'm still looking at the configs just now.  I'm not much up on Apache though.  If I figure it out I'll post the edits here.
