Install blocked by non-existant package

Hi there,

I am installing Kolab on a fresh Stage 3 install. I followed the instructions, but when I try to emerge kolabd I get this:

So I figured, no problem, uninstall sendmail & ssmtp, but:

niether is installed. I've looked through the applicable use flags but I can't see where that block is coming from.

I don't know exactly what is causing the problem in your case but I'll have a look the next time I install a fresh system.

Anyhow you will be able to solve the problem by activating the "mailwrapper" use flag. Conflicts caused by emerging several MTA's can be resolved by setting this use flag. The different packages will happily coexist after that.

Just make sure you select postfix as MTA in your /etc/mail/mailer.conf after that (actually you could also use ssmtp there but since kolab is using postfix it is probably more appropriate)

No ssmtp installed but kolabd wants to install it  :

btw. which keywords is your overlay masked with?

I solved this problem unmerging ssmtp, so i have merged kolabd and after i merged ssmtp.
