That was quicker than I anticipated: p@rdalys reaches version 0.0.4 and this should be the first version actually capable of doing something.
What will it do?
After installing it you run
pardalys
and it will start by taking over /etc/portage/package.*. It will ensure these are directories. If /etc/portage/package.* happen to be files on your system they will be moved to /etc/portage/package.*/package.*.original.
pardalys should then start to create the required settings within these directories to install the latest - and still experimental - OpenLDAP package. This is a first major improvement over Kolab2/Gentoo-2.1. Usually the required USE-Flags and keywords were all given within the installation instructions. These will be handled automatically in the future.
But that is all at the moment. Still not much but the files under /usr/share/pardalys should start to give you an idea how the old templates within /etc/kolab/templates will get replaced by something more sensible in Kolab2/Gentoo-2.2.
