Hi!

As already mentioned most of the progress on this project currently happens behind the scenes and mainly upstream. But today there has been the first commit in ages in response to the fact that there is now a "kolab" use flag in Portage.

This use flag is now being used by net-libs/c-client and dev-lang/php within Portage meaning that the packages in the main tree now support the kolab patches.

So this marks a first step in getting the whole story into portage. Don't expect it to be done within the next month but it is definitely a good sign.

Cheers,

Gunnar

Hi!

> emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=dev-lang/php-5.2.5_p20080206-r4".
> (dependency required by "net-mail/kolab-resource-handlers-2.1" [installed])

Did you mean -r3 or is -r4 just not synced in portage?

Yes, sorry I was a little bit quick with removing the ebuilds from the kolab overlay. The modified php version currently still resides in the php-experimental overlay:

Run

Code:
layman -s php-exterimental

to fetch it.

But I expect the move to portage to happen soon.

Cheers,

Gunnar

Another yippie.

ROFL, that had me scratching my head, no kolab flag in php. (php-exterimental should be php-experimental)

Code:
layman -a php-experimental
echo "=dev-lang/php-5.2.6_rc1-r100 ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge -av =dev-lang/php-5.2.6_rc1-r100

did the trick, thanks again Gunnar Smiley

Yes, this one didn't work out as I expected it to. PHP didn't pick it up as fast as I thought they would.

Probably this awaits 5.2.6 (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210977).

Anyhow it might be possible that I find a way to move to normal c-client and PHP with Kolab-2.2. That would save some troubles.

Could you advise which php version we should use at present moment?

The one I added in the kolab overlay. The situation is currently not very satisfactory but at least things seem to progressing. hoffie (another gentoo dev) promised to move the new stuff into portage soon now. We might still have to wait for php-5.2.6. I also send out a stabilization request for the c-client version that includes the Kolab patch.

But I admit it took far longer than I thought it would.

Cheers,
