imapd segvaults frequently on my box especially if someone tries to login with
wrong username. I need to debug it to get the details but I guess it is connected
with bug

  http://www.intevation.de/roundup/kolab/issue1824

I looked at the patch in the overlay which corresponds to the patch mentioned
in the ticked above and saw that the  "_all_deprecated ldap function calls" are not
in gentoo overlay patch

  cyrus-imapd-2.3.9-KOLAB_UID.patch

I would like to try the above patch but I am not used to do code bugfixing on
gentoo. Could someone give me a hint how to modify the overlay patch?

This could be of great help for me because I urgently have to find a solution for
the crashes which already brought the server to the knees.

Best Regards,

Obviously the crashes are connected with the KOLAB_UID.patch because
if I replace

   virtdomains:            ldap

with

   virtdomains:            userid

in /etc/imad.conf all runs smoothly because the code in the patch isn't affected in this case.

Currently I don't fully understand what I am missing if this patch is deactivated and how to fix the deprecated ldap function calls. But at least the server runs stable.

Okay I will have to check this. So for you the UID thing I mentioned in the other post won't work if you needed to remove the patch.

I think we already fixed this problem upstream but I need to check again.

Cheers,

Gunnar
