Hi!

The development branch in the overlay has been collapsed now and marked unstable. The older "unstable" ebuilds have been removed. If testing within the next weeks is successful, the unstable branch will be marked stable in about a month and the old ebuilds are finally going to be removed.

In addition the newest horde-ebuilds now deliver the newer, completed Horde/Kolab framework and should provide you with a much smoother web client. This is still a beta phase but the major restructuring has been finished.

Cheers,

Gunnar

Some upgrade information:

  • If Apache fails to start, make sure you enabled "mod_authn_alias shared" in /etc/apache2/apache2-builtin-mods. The kolabd package tries to detect that but the settings might get lost after re-emerging apache. The corresponding error looks like this:

Code:
* Apache2 has detected a syntax error in your configuration files:
Syntax error on line 20 of /etc/apache2/modules.d/000_kolab.conf:
Invalid command '<AuthnProviderAlias', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

  • You might have old configuration files in your /etc/apache2/vhost.d directory. Clean and regenerate them with
Code:
rm /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/*kolab*
kolabconf

  • If you have a config-protected /etc/kolab/templates there might also be old templates in there. Ensure that you removed them. And kolabconf still does not ignore hidden ._cfg* files. So run dispatch-conf before running kolabconf.

I edited apache2-builtin-mods and changed mod_authn_alias disabled to mod_authn_alias shared. I also cleaned my vhosts.d directory of kolab* files and reran kolabconf, but I'm still getting the above error with apache failing to start. Do you have any other suggestions that I can try?

Thanks,
Jason

The builtin-mods are only respected during an apache emerge. Did you re-emerge apache-2.2 after setting "mod_authn_alias shared"?
